Reference to Something Pretentious

Holidailies starts in a few days, and, frankly, I haven’t written much of anything in almost a year. That’s not quite true, but discretion draws a veil. And I have already caught myself telling a falsehood. Not a good start; saying something that’s inaccurate and pausing to correct it is scrupulous but makes for confusing reading, and it is possible that someone may read this entry, and I should keep that person’s comfort and understanding foremost in my thoughts. Well, maybe not foremost, but certainly in the front rank of my secondary or tertiary considerations.

But I’ll will offer more streamlined prose in the future, when Holidailies is actually underway (Friday?). Or perhaps I will not; it seems unlikely that my mental confusion will suddenly clarify and I will become as linear as Euclid. A funny story about Euclid: actually, that isn’t a funny story, he winds up hideously murdered in the end, and it isn’t a story about Euclid at all, it’s about that other Greek guy.

That’ll do for now.
